Burn Players Remember
             A Hero

We were blessed to have Mickey Trotman be a part of the Dallas Burn organization, if only for a short time. Mickey possessed so many wonderful qualities it is difficult to recall them all. Dallas Burn fans will remember his enthusiasm for the game, his infamous drag move, and his popped up collar. Mickey brought a certain working class mentality to the field that every fan could identify with. His love for the game was never more evident than when he would put the ball in the back of the net. He reacted to every goal he scored as if it were the first in his life. The players will remember his joy for life. He was a player with an unchained spirit that would spread to anyone in his presence. Whether times were good or bad this man could make you laugh and take you to a place where simple pleasures, friendship and family were all that mattered in life. I will remember his smile and his sincerity. When I think of Mick I think of a verse from his favorite song.

"I've been blessed, I've been touched, I love Jah so much, they keep fighting me, I'm not giving up. Destiny, I wanna rule my Destiny." (Buju Banton)  -Matt Jordan

"Mickey Trotman was not only one of my all-time favorite players to play with, he was one of my all-time favorite people to be around. His love for life and enthusiasm for the game of soccer were infectious. It is very painful to see such an incredibly great person taken from us at such a young age, but I am sure he is making the Lord laugh and smile right now. He will be remembered in my heart forever as the man with the constant smile. I love you Mick and miss you. "Tousand Touches" Bro." - Jason Kreis

"Anyone that knew Mickey realized they had a friend for life. He touched our hearts in many ways in which we will always remember. I love you brother, RESPECT.  - Eric Dade

"Mickey was always a joy to be around. He gave everything he had to those he loved and to the game of soccer. He will be deeply missed and I will miss his cheerful loving spirit." - Brian Haynes

"As a player what made Mickey special was his creativity and his ability to do things different. Off the field I will always remember his positive attitude. He was special because he enjoyed life and demonstrated this joy in everything he did." - Mike Jeffries

"Mickey was always surrounded by laughter and happiness. Regardless of any difficulties in his life or his career, Mick was always positive. He was always smiling, joking, and looking ahead to better times. We will all miss him." - Richard Farrer

"When my days were a little blue, I always had MIckey there to make things better because of his infectious laugh. His laugh and smile made everyone else around him happier. I can and will always know Mick by his hearty laugh, big smile, and love for life." - Dante Washington
